We’re hiring an early-career investor at Mento.vc. We are a data-driven early-stage venture fund investing in hyper-growth startups across the US, UK, and EU. Our portfolio includes companies like Artisan, ClerkChat, AvatarOS, Final Round, Sync.so, Eragon, Alma, Tella, Rork, and more.
Mento is a high-ownership, high-trust environment - you’ll be treated like an owner and grow quickly by doing real work that matters. As an Investor Associate, you’ll engage in the full investing lifecycle: research, thesis work, diligence, and supporting portfolio companies. We’re building a firm - not just filling a seat - so no task is “above” or “below” you.
📍Location: Remote (full-time). Candidate must be based outside of sanctioned countries.
Investing & diligence → Research markets, map landscapes, and form clear points of view (ICP, pricing, GTM, competition, risks). → Prepare concise diligence notes and investment memos that support internal decision-making. → Financial modeling (Google Sheets) → Build and maintain financial models: revenue drivers, scenarios, sensitivity analysis, and unit economics. → Translate metrics into an investor-ready view (what matters, what’s missing, how we can make money).
Portfolio support (high-touch) → Be a first line of support for portfolio founders, as ahandle inbound requests and follow-ups. → Make and track intros (hiring, customers, partners, operators) and drive them to outcomes. → Keep portfolio tracking clean and consistent (KPI snapshots, updates, statuses). → Product & technical understanding → Quickly understand how products work (workflows, integrations, data flows, AI components). → Identify product-level constraints/risks and what needs validation.
Packaging & communication (Figma) → Create clean one-pagers, simple decks, and visual summaries in Figma for internal and founder-facing use.
We are looking for exceptionally sharp, entrepreneurial, truth-seeking, hard-working people who thrive in ambiguity, learn fast, care about craft, and act like owners. High integrity and long-term thinking are non-negotiable.
Most candidates will come from a financial, entrepreneurial, product, or technical background - but we care most about talent and trajectory.
We typically see a strong fit for people coming from a startup founder / product manager / finance (IB/PE/corp dev/FP&A) background - or a combination of the above.
Required experience → Strong English (written + spoken) - you will use it daily. → Strong fundamentals in business models and startup metrics (SaaS / usage-based / fintech). → Solid Excel / Google Sheets modeling skills (structured, clean, scenario-driven). → Strong written communication (clear, short, high-signal). → High attention to detail, ownership, and follow-through. → Ability to do fast, high-quality market research and turn it into decisions.
